TILLICOULTRY COMMUNITY INVITED TO LEARN MORE ABOUT PLANS FOR STERLING MILLS
Plans to develop a small supermarket at Sterling Mills Outlet Village, Tillicoultry, will be on display at the Coffee Bar in Tillicoultry Community Centre, Tuesday 24th May. The exhibition will allow members of the community to view the proposals which will create up to 75 local job opportunities and secure the future of Sterling Mills as a retail destination and visitor attraction in the heart of Clackmannanshire.
Sterling Mills has applied to Clackmannanshire Council for permission to sell food in part of the previously approved extension to the Village. Ahead of the request being heard by the Council Committee, members of the public are invited to visit Tillicoultry Community Centre and learn about the proposals and provide their feedback.
Paul Sutton, Retail Operations Director at Sterling Mills, commented: “Our proposals will bring vital shopping facilities to the Tillicoultry community and secure the future of Sterling Mills. The Council currently favour investigating the suitability of Tillicoultry Community Centre for retail. However the Centre is a valued facility and our plans can be delivered now, and it has been recognised that it would take two years to bring the Community Centre site forward as a retail proposal.”
“We look forward to welcoming the local community to our exhibition, where they can hear about our plans to bring a well known retailer to Sterling Mills, understand our proposals and recognise the benefits of our plans.”
Members of the public are invited to drop-in to the Sterling Mills exhibition on Tuesday 24th May, 3pm – 9pm, at the Coffee Bar, Tillicoultry Community Centre, Institution Place, Tillicoultry.
